Our Story

Established in 2020, Viva La Playa is an inspiration of the partners of Benny’s on the Beach, located over the ocean on the historical Lake Worth Pier. Lee Lipton, Chef Jeremy Hanlon and Dylan Lipton continue the same excitement and memorable experience at Lake Worth Beach with a new culture, casual resort setting and cuisine just steps down the beach from Benny’s on the Beach. Viva La Playa is a special addition to the “where every day is a vacation” vibe at Lake Worth Beach and showcases another beautiful view of the ocean.

Chef Hanlon worked specifically in Latin America, inspired highly by Peruvian, Cuban, Argentinian, Brazilian, Mexican and Columbian cuisines. Each country contributed to educating Hanlon in the traditional techniques, while inspiring him to create Viva La Playa specific dishes coupled with techniques from alternative cultures and ingredients that are specific to us here in South Florida. Almost every item in our kitchen is made from raw ingredients. This includes but is not limited to, our heirloom Mexican corn tortillas, hand rolled empanadas, fresh fish or grilled meat dishes and our array of bakery and pastry items that allow the freshness to shine with familiar culturally known and appreciated flavors.


All of this we create daily and serve to our guests creating memorable tastes and yearning returns.  We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.  With three different menus we focus only on our favorite dishes to showcase the incredible Latin American cuisine and enjoy the relentless pursuit to continue to evolve our menu with daily inspiration by Chef Jeremy Hanlon.

Dylan Lipton

Dylan Lipton is also the General Manager of Viva La Playa and leads the team with a dedicated hospitality focused experience provided to all of our guests. He strives for purposeful and intentional table side service in a family friendly environment. We welcome our guests for a unique oceanside experience only available on Lake Worth Beach. In addition to orchestrating our service, Dylan has also worked extensively on our bar program and closely with Latin American wine, tequila and mezcal suppliers. We have created a very unique offering of aesthetically inspired freshly mixed and delicious cocktails, made with fresh pressed juices. We offer an extensive bottle selection featuring limited vintages, growths and independent labels. Our bar is the center of our experience at Viva La Playa combining our passion for flavor and intentional pairing between the cocktail and food menu creations. Bar guests experience a personal introduction to our culture and if you are a lucky a taste of some incredible Viva selected tequila!

The space was redesigned beautifully by Cheryl Gaydas Eng The ambiance reminds you of countless South American resorts and vacation settings around the world. With a front view of the Atlantic Ocean and an unobstructed rear view of the western horizon on our sunset patio, there is always a space within Viva La Playa that creates a memorable setting for all occasions.


As a successful New York City apparel business owner for the last 30 years, it was quite clear that the restaurant/hospitality business has always been Lee’s passion as well. After celebrating many successful years at Benny’s on the Beach, Lee and his team’s newest dream is to watch Viva la Playa flourish!
